Hart Players at The Fringe – By Liz Gillespie
The cast assembles, we have some news
We’re going to The Fringe
An exciting buzz goes through the group
One had to have a whinge
We can hear that there are doubters
Some had a glaikit stair
The 20th of August folks
I hope to see you there
The Director has in mind a script
He introduces to the team
And gauges their reaction
Who wants to live this dream?
The show is now a goer
They practice every chance
Hart Players getting ready
For a farcical romance
Cars packed with all they might not need
They finally hit the road
They do a mental check or two
Who packed a travel Kermode?
Nerves set in excitement fades
Again, doubt start to rise
The audience sits, and the stage is set
It’s time to dry their eyes
News comes in, a sell-out show
What! on the opening night?
It will not happen a second time
But you know I think it might
A ripple of laughter, an applaud or two
The farce plays out on stage
A Travel lodge in Kidderminster
Now Lottie’s in a rage
A successful week the nerves have gone
A great time was had by all
Five shows confirmed as sell out
They’ve really had a ball
